Kendrick High School's Grant Excerpt:
"The faculty and staff of Kendrick High School strongly feel that they have needs for academic improvement in the core areas of Social Studies and English/Language Arts. There are several reasons for this. The Georgia Performance Standards (GPS) objectives for Social Studies will be implemented beginning with the 2007-2008 school year. At this point in time the teachers at Kendrick have not developed any Social Studies lesson plans utilizing the GPS objectives. This grant would be the perfect opportunity to not only develop engaged learning experiences that are in line with the new GPS objectives, but also to create rigorous, relevant, technologically oriented, interactive, inquiry-based lessons for the students.
