Lynda Byrne

Georgia Standards.Org Specialist

Lynda Byrne is the Georgia Standards.Org specialist for the Center for Quality Teaching and Learning at Columbus State University in Columbus, Georgia. Lynda provides assistance to the Georgia Department of Education’s Georgia Standards.Org (GSO) Program Manager in the design, delivery, and management of training for use of the GSO website. This position allows her to provide instruction and technological assistance and consultative services to the GDOE and local school systems and educators on how to improve student learning by incorporating the Georgia Performance Standards into classroom instruction.

Lynda has over 20 years of teaching experience in language arts, English, and secondary teacher education, having taught in grades 7-20. Additionally, she has administrative experience as a middle and high school curriculum coordinator and as a high school assistant principal and principal. Most recently Lynda was a faculty member in CSU’s Department of Language and Literature and acted as a liaison to the Department of Education’s Secondary English majors program.
