Elizabeth Holmes

Beth Holmes, Director of the Center for
Quality Teaching and Learning at Columbus State University, is a
professional learning and reading specialist with extensive background in design and
delivery of educational professional development programs for
pre-kindergarten – post-secondary educators at local and state levels
and for corporate industries including International
Business Machines (IBM) and Lexia Learning Systems. With over
twenty years experience in teaching, school leadership, and professional
learning, Beth has designed curricula for elementary students,
preservice and inservice educators, and school administrators. She has
managed customized professional development programs for schools, school
systems, and state certification initiatives and coordinated training
and curricula for a state network of educational technology training
centers. Beth has ten years of experience in
educational administration with concentration on
institutional redesign of curriculum and instruction emphasizing
standards-based, technology-enhanced, data-driven teaching and improved
student learning. Beth specializes in development and preparation
of state and federal grants and has comprehensive experience in
administering multi-million dollar educational improvement projects at
local and state levels with documented results for identified short- and
long-term institutional goals.
As a state and national
consultant and conference presenter on topics related to innovation in
education, Beth has been an invited guest speaker at the National
Governor’s Association Policy Conference, the House of Delegates of the
Commonwealth of Virginia, and at the National Educational Computing
Conference. Beth was a contributing member of the Writing Committee for
the International Society for Technology in Education’s (ISTE) National
Educational Technology Standards (NETS) and recently authored articles
published in ISTE’s official journal Learning and Leading with
Technology and in SEIR*TEC's NewsWire magazine.
