About the Center
The College of Education at Columbus State University has a collaborative partnership between the Center for Quality
Teaching and Learning (CQTL) and the Georgia Department of Education’s Educational Technology Training Center (ETTC).
The mission of the College of Education’s CQTL and ETTC at Columbus State University is to improve the quality of
student learning by promoting and cultivating 21st century teaching excellence within an environment designed to
enhance the knowledge, skills and dispositions of the contemporary learner.
The Center for Quality Teaching and Learning

Founded in 2004 to serve pre-kindergarten – post-secondary educators in the
Columbus State University service area, the Center promotes and facilitates
regional initiatives to advance the study and practice of quality teaching
and learning. The Center is host to a regional learning community that is
concerned with the learning of educators (professional development and
research) and students (teaching) and the ways in which the learning of
one directly benefits the other.

The Educational Technology Training Center

The goals of the ETTC are: (a) to promote the use of a variety of technologies in improving student
performance and achievement across West Central Georgia; (b) to establish strategic and productive
methods for the use of instructional technologies in modern learning environments; (c) to develop
and deliver training in the use of instructional technologies to advance 21st century skills; (d)
to develop and deliver training in administrative uses of technology; (e) to assess training
efficacy as it relates to improved student performance and achievement; (f) to promote the adoption
and skilled implementation of existing and emerging classroom technologies; (g) to facilitate collection,
transmittal and analysis of student learning data to inform decisions.
